Is it me, or does this look like a logo you’d find on an unlicensed Chinese lunchbox?

It’s official: Batman and Superman are coming to every theater near you to duke it out IMAX style. Zak Snyder rocked Comic-Con with HUGE news that a Batman vs. Superman movie is in the works for summer 2015.

The script will be written by Nolan favorite David Goyer, directed by Snyder and starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman. No word yet on who will play the Caped Crusader, but Christian Bale will almost definitely not be in Gotham or Metropolis this time around.

Snyder teased that the story will be inspired by this telling quote from Frank Millers The Dark Knight Returns:

“I want you to remember, Clark, in all the years to come, in all your most private moments, I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you.”

This quote comes in the finale of Dark Knight Returns, after a Buzz Lightyear-suited senior citizen vigilante Bruce Wayne picks a fight with his goody-two-shoes frenemy, Clark Kent, over political/philosophical differences — although in the end it was just a way to get Superman to freak out and kick his ass so bad that the world thought Batman was dead so Bruce could disappear.

Though team Snyder/Nolan/Goyer says the movie will not follow the Dark Knight Returns story line, the geekosphere is amped to see this epic decades old battle of Good vs. Good — as is DC/WB who want to see that Avengers money at the box office.
